Uoshin is one of my absolute favorite places to get some light snacks and a cold beer in the Roppongi neighborhood. The menu expands from crowd-pleasers like sushi and sashimi to the classic faves like agedashi-tofu and karaage but must order items for me are eihire, deep-fried fish bone chips, and of course, everything that contains uni. The quality of the food is so good here and the service is also so approachable. They have English menus, a picture book, and are completely transparent on their prices. It is a popular izakaya for locals as well as visitors so expect to wait a little while if you go later in the evening. But always remember, when you see locals waiting with you, they must be doing something right!
