Sauteed Cinnamon Apples

Sauteed  cinnamon apples are easy to make at home and make a wonderful topping for pancakes and crepes.  Whenever I make this sweet topping, I make a whole lot so that I can enjoy it with my oatmeal for breakfasts.  It’s also a delicious topping for vanilla ice cream!


  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • peel, cut and core the apples to about 1/4 inch thick
  • in a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat
  • add the apples, stirring constantly until the apples are almost tender
  • mix the cornstarch to the water and pour into pan
  • add brown sugar and cinnamon to pan, stirring until apples are tender
  • remove from pan and serve warm
